Description
The science behind Blue light:
Blue light at 415nm wavelength helps the skin to reduce its production of sebum and kills bacteria-causing infections. The result is smoother & clearer skin. “It has been shown both in vivo and clinically that acne may be treated successfully with blue visible light phototherapy”. If you’ve heard of LED mask lights and their benefits for the skin. Blue light is one of those beneficial lights (see research here). This light emits warmth which may help lymph nodes detox and this device is said to have BIO current activity which can help reduce inflammation/ pain.
Blue light can help warm the skin & therefore there are some claims that like laser it can possibly help collapse variscose / spider veins using heat to collapse the vein and push away stagnant blood (with long term use). Despite the massive claims on these devices (with exaggeration!) we will give it a balanced and tested view here. It won’t magically make your spot/ acne / rosacea/ pimples / variscose /spider viens etc. go away, It can though help reduce them or support other things that help reduce acne or spider viens -particularly on the face and foot. In our own tests for acne we found it helped reduce acne together with: masks, creams, patches, healthy diets (drinking plenty of water, avoiding cows milk etc.) and good sleep. We felt an instant positive result with reduced sebum secretion after use.
For variscose/ spider veins we tried this for 10+days and ‘we felt’ that there was some improvement together with consistent use, with creams and massage (see images from our test). It is however no miracle remover. We can’t guarantee the test was not influenced by other factors like good sleep, exercise, healthy eating habits and temporary relief. For the price point though we definately think its worth a shot if you can’t currently afford laser – the consistent use results seemed promising! (For more information on variscose/spider viens see here) – also consider compression leggings or socks.
It’s a great addition to your holiday travel bag – particularly if you don’t want to bring a whole LED Mask or LED electroporation device with you and enjoy holding and massaging for 2mins. See recommended method below for best results.
Benefits:
- 415nm Blue light targets P. acnes bacterium
- Provides gentle warmth (together with your massaging) that can help lymph nodes drain
- BIO current can help reduce inflammation / pain
- Uses widely available AA battery (comes without batteries)
How to use:
For Acne: After basic routine (ideally little oil) hold for 2mins in and around the effected area and gently massage if no pain
For Variscose Veins: Use 2-3 times a day for 2 mins. Consistently for 10-28 days whilst massaging (add gel creams if necessary)
Note by Nunu Ma:
Don’t expect miracles but something that has some scientific basis that can help – with consistent use you will definately see some benefits with acne atleast – if not spider veins (take a before and after photo to compare results realistically – make sure you note the body and skin usually has a 28 day cycle for renewal – and other factors can also play a big role in your results). Everyone is different so results may vary from person to person too – we cannot guarantee any positive results.
A study suggests that blue LED light therapy is safe and may promote biological effects similar to UVA light, which has been used as an acne treatment and other chronic skin conditions such as rosacea, and psoriasis.
Do not use more than 2 mins. in a row and more than 10mins in a day as ‘too much’ Blue light is not good for skin & wrinkles.
