Rosehip oil is pressed from the seeds of the rose fruits of wild roses and is great for helping with anti-aging, scars and hyperpigmentation. Many people believe that this is due to the vitamin C present in the fruit and therefore the oil, however the brilliant skin healing abilities are due to other contents like anti-oxidants and bioflavonoids.
Rosehip oil does contain high levels of the antioxidant beta-carotene ( that can be converted to vitamin A – retinol also converts on the skin – and may therefore have some similar effect to retinol when used topically. Rosehip oil is a great skincare oil because of these and other qualities (can also include omega-3 & omega-6 oils), so its definately a staple to use in your skincare routine
